WHAT IS MOLLUSCUM CONTAGIOSUM?

Multiple painless umbilicated papules caused by HPV virus

• This is a skin infection caused by a virus transmitted during sexual intercourse
• It appears as tiny pearly growths with central depressions on the genital skin
• It can be diagnosed with the help of microscopic examination of material from the growths
• Treatment is with liquid nitrogen,TCA (tricholoacetic acid) or Aldara cream application
